Description of Services: Advocacy group on seniors' issues * volunteer opportunities

Volunteer-run committees meet to discuss the following seniors issues:
  • Age-Friendly Ottawa: group working with the City of Ottawa, community partners, and seniors to maximize healthy and active aging
  • transportation
  • health
  • housing
  • income security
  • francophone issues
  • social inclusion

Education services:
  • eight sessions offered in English and eight sessions offered in French yearly, often with a focus on how seniors can age better
  • income security course for individuals retiring on a low income
  • 55 Alive Refresher Driving Course: in-class learning for people 55 years and older
  • in-class driving lessons for older seniors
  • housing options course
  • Understanding Transport As We Age: exploration of local transportation options

Fees: Membership fee, $40 * organizational membership $100 * corporate membership $250
